LATE RUNNING DESERT STONE RALLIES TO WIN GRADE II, $200,000 SAN GABRIEL STAKES BY A NECK UNDER FRANCO; TRAINED BY BALTAS, IRISH-BRED 5-YEAR-OLD GETS 1 1/8 MILES ON TURF IN 1:47.63ARCADIA, Calif. (Jan. 4, 2020)–Idle since May 27, Irish-bred Desert Stone rallied from last to win Saturday’s Grade II, $200,000 San Gabriel Stakes by a neck under Geovanni Franco. Trained by Richard Baltas, Desert Stone, a 5-year-old full horse, got a mile and one eighth on turf in 1:47.63.Breaking from the rail, Desert Stone ducked inward leaving the gate, but was quickly into stride and saved ground behind a well-bunched field that was headed by Overdue, who folded around the far turn. Desert Stone appeared full of run under a long hold turning for home and with Franco biding his time, angled out four-wide an eighth of a mile out and outran favored Cleopatra’s Strike for the money late.“I could see everyone bunching up and I knew the pace was pretty slow, but my horse was just waiting for me to turn him loose, so I didn’t worry about it,” said Franco, who won last year’s San Gabriel with Next Shares, who was also trained by Baltas. “We expected him to run good today and I was very happy with the way he ran from off the pace. I’ve worked him a lot and he likes me and I like him.”Most recently ninth in the Grade I Shoemaker Mile on May 27, Desert Stone, who registered his first stakes win today, was off at 7-1 in a field of seven older horses and paid $16.20, $5.60 and $4.00.“This is kind of a different horse,” said Baltas. “You can’t force this horse, he has a mind of his own. When he wants to run, he’ll run and Geovanni lets him do his thing in the beginning. He told me today, ‘If I can get him out, we’re gonna be tough.’ He had been blocked several times in the stretch before.”Owned by Zayat Stables, LLC, Desert Stone picked up $120,000 for the win, increasing his earnings to $332,662. He now has three wins from 16 career starts.Fifth early, but close to the pace, Cleopatra’s Strike rallied three-wide turning for home, made the lead between horses, but couldn’t go with the winner late, finishing 1 ½ lengths in front of Majestic Eagle. Off as the 6-5 favorite with Abel Cedillo, Cleopatra’s Strike paid $3.00 and $2.40.Majestic Eagle, who sat a close second to Overdue early, took the lead leaving the quarter pole and proved third best on the day, finishing a half length in front Chosen Vessel. Off at 5-1 with Rafael Bejarano, Majestic Eagle paid $3.20 to show.Fractions on the race were 24.26, 48.18, 1:11.65 and 1:35.98.Racing resumes at Santa Anita with an eight-race program on Sunday. First post time is at 12:30 p.m. and admission gates open at 10:30 a.m.

A convulsive summer and a controversial decisionThe Celta breathed with relief after achieving the salvation of the hand of a great Iago Aspas, but the problems had only just begun. In June, he again starred in a new episode of his eccentricities. Pione Sisto said on his Instagram account that he was undergoing a “parasite cleaning” treatment. Under that motto, he hid his intention to eliminate all the mucosa of your body by considering it “the cause of all diseases”.That joined the above and narrated through the Instagram account ‘youknowital’, created by him to report his particular habits. Along the way he left controversial phrases like “destroy yourself to be someone new“or” get rid of the mucosa and you will be free of all disease. “Perhaps it was the drop that filled the glass to Celta de Vigo, who sought a new destination in the summer market. 2017-183669 Pione Sisto is a peculiar soccer player. Beyond his quick and skillful football image, a somewhat complicated personality is hidden, which has brought him problems with some of his coaches. In your mind is the possibility of being differential and, fortunately for Celta, the chip seems to have changed to achieve it. His decisive goal against Sevilla is nothing more than a great representation of it. The Danish has returned to take the course, just when his people needed him more than ever in search of salvation. Gone are the 21 days in a row eating only fruit or his eagerness to remove the mucosa from his body. His return, with no intention of falling into subjectivity, was not expected even in Vigo. Especially for his testimonial participation with Fran Escribá and the extra-sports episodes he had previously starred in. But Oscar Garcia, as soon as he arrived, turned around the situation of the player and placed him in the starting lineup. Despite a row they had, the technician has not lost confidence in him. He was not mistaken: a great goal in Balaidos has given this weekend three crucial points to Celta, which have allowed him to leave relegation places. What definitely triggered the alarms was a video of the player last May in which openly acknowledged having been 21 days! consecutive feeding only on fruit. A method, of course, hardly compatible with the practice of football at a professional level. Moreover, even Pione acknowledged that he had been affected: “I lost control and believed that I was going to go crazy.” SeasonMatchesGoalsAssists 2018-1927twoone 2019-201840 Frustration after being replaced and subsequent reconciliationOn the 21st day of the championship, Balaizados whistled the fact that Pione Sisto was replaced. The situation had taken a turn and people who despaired in their day with their attitude now cheered. Óscar took the criticism, because the public considered that he had not been successful with the change. Nor did the Danish please him, who left with an angry gesture and didn’t even look at his technician. This one responded with a strong anger to the player, that later would bring consequences.“No player likes to be substituted. Nor does he have to show it to everyone, except him. Two months ago we all know where he was. I have already taken disciplinary action. We are going to talk to the club to see what we can do, “said an angry Oscar at the subsequent press conference. He also made a dent, remembering what his pupil’s situation was before his arrival. The matter did not transcend: he played a few minutes against Valencia and was the hero as revulsive against Sevilla. Pione Sisto is back, who knows if to stay. On the grass, of course, he has been the one he was again. But, Why a player of his talent has not entered regularly in the lineups? In summer 2016, he arrived at Celta as a future bet from the Midtjylland. The operation cost 3.5 million euros to the club, who was betting heavily on an almost unknown Danish league. Soon Pione Sisto showed that the investment was not wrong. His first season closed it as undisputed in the lineups and scored six goals. Even more irreplaceable was on 17/18, when he started on 31 of the 38 days of the national league championship. Yes, the final months were not so fruitful. But everything changed last season, which began in the eleven, worse was declining as the days went by. This is where the eccentricities of Pione Sisto come in, because his fall, beyond football, has unusual reasons in a guild governed by strict diets and constant physical training. A turn of the helm that led him to a storm that now seems to subside. That turned the fast and revolutionary extreme into a man away from the discipline demanded by his technicians. The diet and decisions you did not understandPione Sisto lost Unzue’s confidence, which he did not assimilate. Speaking to the Danish media Ekstrablade, he was critical of his situation: “In the autumn I played and helped the team. What is the reason I have been out of the team lately, I honestly do not know“Months later, already with a change of coach and Miguel Cardoso at the controls, he went from being a soccer player in his networks to regularly sharing reflections such as”you become what you think“or photographs of philosophy books.RAFA APARICIO & nbsp; (DAILY AS) ‘); return false; “class =” item-multimedia “>Pione Sisto talks with Iago Aspas in the preview of a Celta de Vigo match.RAFA APARICIO (DAILY AS) 2016-174964 The Aston Villa, after a convulsive summer in which calls were hardly received by him in the offices of Balaidos, he was interested in getting his services. To the surprise of Celta, Pione Sisto and his brother (also his representative) they decided to decline said offer to stay in the entity. A decision that did not sit well because it hindered the return of Nolito and forced Escribá to stay with a player he did not have.Oscar recovered him for the causeNevertheless, Pione Sisto had not said his last word in Celta. He was considered a lost case or, at least, a soccer player not prepared for the highest level. Perhaps the need to give the team a new air on the grass is what led Oscar Garcia to give him a chance. “It has been a long journey, it’s all I can say“, wrote the Danish on his usual Instagram after it.Since he started against Barcelona in the debut league of the new coach, Pione Sisto has started seven of the eleven days played. Also against Mérida and Mirandés, in the second and third round of Copa del Rey. He has responded with four goals and good performances, although it remains somewhat irregular. As a reference, it adds an average of 1.5 pikes per match since Oscar’s arrival, a sign of discrete and bright appearances in equal parts. Wait, because in the universe of the extreme there is still one more episode.Pione Sisto’s statistics in Celta

Before the current Government of Pedro Sánchez was formed, the TAD ruled against the advance not seeing the candidacy to organize the 2030 World Cup with Portugal as a solid argument. Now, after the State advocacy report, the CSD sends the file again to the TAD so that it can be pronounced again based on the allegations of the RFEF, which asks for the advance when the European Championship is held in June, the Olympic Games in July and the Futsal World Cup next September. The TAD has ten business days from this Friday to pronounce again, either ratifying its first decision or correcting it and allowing the electoral advance requested by Luis Rubiales and denied by Iker Casillas. But the final decision will correspond to the Secretary of State for Sports, Irene Lozano, since the TAD report is not binding. The Higher Sports Council (CSD) has received the legal opinion on the electoral advance in the Federation (RFEF) which requested the State’s advocacy and has resolved to forward it to the Administrative Court of Sport (TAD) for the preparation of a second report. The TAD has already ruled on the advance requested by Rubiales, which Iker Casillas opposes. But it was before its renovation and the arrival of Irene Lozano to the presidency of the CSD.
For example, Atlético de Madrid would be left out right now, leaving the champion Liverpool in the ditch in the last 16. It so happens that if the Cholo Simeone team won the Champions League, when it resumes, and was left out of the top four of LaLiga Santander, as it is today, Spain would increase its participants in the group stage in a team the next edition. The same case would occur with Napoli and Lyon if they eliminated, respectively, Barcelona and Juventus. Both, before the postponement due to the coronavirus pandemic, were out of the Champions positions and yet they are alive in this edition of the Champions. In addition, Tottenham de Mourinho, Valencia, the great Turkish champion Galatasaray or Leverkusen, in addition to Genk and Lille, are also out of the places that would give access to the next Champions League. Let’s imagine that everything ends as it is in the different European leagues. It is utopian, but it is one more scenario. If that assumption were to occur, half of the 32 teams that started this season’s Champions League group stage would repeat: Real Madrid, Barcelona, Liverpool, Manchester City, Chelsea, PSG, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Leipzig, Juventus, Inter Milan, Atalanta, Shakhtar Donetsk, Zenit, Lokomotiv Moscow and Bruges. They would have to regain their place in the group stage Olympiacos, Red Star, Dinamo Zagreb, Salzburg, Slavia Prague, Benfica and Ajax. And they would enter right now, if the different leagues did not compete again, Sevilla, Real Sociedad, Leicester, Borussia de Mönchengladbach, Lazio, Olympique de Marseille, Porto and Trabzonspor. The outcome of the 2019-20 Champions League is unknown, but of the 2020-21 edition if it is known, for example, that all the countries will again have the same participants by their coefficient, except Croatia, which wins a team to the detriment of Switzerland. Spain, England, Germany and Italy would have, again, four fixed teams. In addition to these 16 teams, The first two classified in the French and Russian leagues and the first in the Belgian, Portuguese, Turkish and Ukrainian leagues would have their place secured. In total 24 teams. The other eight to complete the 32 of the group stage would come out of the previous rounds in which 55 clubs will enter. Namely: the third classified in the French and Russian leagues, the second in the Belgian, Portuguese, Turkish and Ukrainian leagues; the first two in the Dutch, Austrian, Czech, Greek and Croatian league; Y the 39 champions of the countries to which they correspond one place per coefficient. Liechtenstein is the only country to be left without a participant again. We know that UEFA has postponed the Champions League and Europa League finals without a date, but we do not know when competitions will resume in each country, postponed ‘sine die’ at the expense of the evolution of the coronavirus pandemic. Only the Belarusian league is being played and with an audience, albeit with limitations. The return of the round of 16 from Manchester City-Real Madrid, Juventus-Lyon, Bayern Munich-Chelsea and Barcelona-Naples is yet to be disputed in the current edition of the Champions League. Atlético de Madrid, PSG, Leipzig and Atalanta are already in quarters. UEFA works together with national football organizations to reschedule the calendars and the intention is to play again, although, in most cases, there are no dates on the horizon yet.
As reported by SER Catalunya in its Què t’hi Jugues program, Alexander Isak (09-21-1999), one of the sensations of the season, is on Barça’s agenda as plan B if the Barça club fails to close the signing of Lautaro Martínez, which is the Barça club’s number one goal for this summer.Isak, one of the sensations of the season but a player still to be exploited and to achieve regularity in the game, has scored 14 goals in 34 official matches this year and has been the hero of Real in the Cup, where he has scored seven goals in seven games. With spectacular conditions to play soccer despite 1.90 meters, it has impressed by its way of handling both legs, of falling to the bands, of turning. His coordination speaks of a great player and, of course, that has put him on the agenda of the best European teams. The Swedish international (11 games, four goals with his team) has a clause of 70 million euros this summer. The amount will remain for other summers, but with an asterisk. Borussia Dortmund could play it back for 30 million euros. Of course, only in the summers of 2021, 2022 and 2023. The price of Isak for all clubs, including Dortmund, is 70 million euros as reported by Mundo Deportivo last February.
