Vancouver man 22 dies in singlevehicle Interstate 5 crash

first_imgA 22-year-old Vancouver man died when he lost control of his pickup truck Sunday night on southbound Interstate 5.Mason H. Salvador was not wearing a seat belt, according to a Washington State Patrol crash memo.Salvador was driving a Toyota Tacoma pickup in the right exit-only lane at Milepost 2.9, approaching Main Street, shortly after 9 p.m. He lost control and veered across all southbound lanes before striking the jersey barrier and a light pole, according to the memo. Then, the truck rolled over the barrier and into the left lane of northbound I-5.The light pole came to rest on the truck, troopers said.Salvador was pronounced dead at the scene.Troopers said it is unknown if drugs or alcohol were a factor, and they listed speeding as the cause of the crash.last_img
